Founder and Chief Medical Officer — Chia Soo, MD, FACS
Professor Soo is a professor and Vice-Chair of Research in the UCLA Department of Plastic Surgery and the UCLA Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. She has over 20 years of experience as an academically based clinician-scientist, inventor, and FDA regulatory expert, with an excellent record of securing translational funding to support biotechnology start-ups. As a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgery attending, her clinical interest focuses on chronic wound management through the UCLA Center for Wound Healing and Limb Preservation, as well as on acute burn care and long-term burn reconstruction and rehabilitation at the Los Angeles County + USC Medical Center (LAC+USC). Dr. Soo has extensive clinical and research experience in acute and chronic wound healing. Drs. Soo and Ting have received over $30 million in NIH funding as co-senior investigators, including over $14 million in SBIR grants to develop SLI-F06 platform technology.
Founder and President — Kang (Eric) Ting, DMD, DMedSc
Professor Ting graduated magna cum laude with both a D.M.D. and a D.Med.Sc. from Harvard University. He previously served as Academic Senate Professor and founding chair of the Division of Growth and Development at UCLA, holding joint professorships in the School of Medicine and the School of Engineering. Additionally, Professor Ting holds joint appointments at renowned institutions such as the Forsyth Institute of the American Dental Association in Cambridge, MA, and the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University College of Dentistry in Taiwan. He has extensive experience managing large clinical and research units. As an expert in translational and tissue engineering research, Professor Ting’s original work has garnered over 12,000 citations. He has published in more than 140 leading peer-reviewed journals, including Nature Communications, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, PLOS One, PNAS, The Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, and Biomaterials. Furthermore, he is named on over 78 patent applications filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office. In the biotech sector, Professor Ting has been instrumental in raising over $40 million in capital for biotech start-ups. He is also a board member of several companies and a senior consultant at Angelalign Technology, a successful biotech firm that went public in Hong Kong with a market capitalization of approximately $5 billion.
Founder and Chief Science Officer — Zhong (Leo) Zheng, PhD
Dr. Zheng, trained at Tsinghua University, has over 24 years of research experience in biological sciences and previously served as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is an inventor on nine US and four international issued patents and ten additional US patent filings, several related to Saint Therapeutics’ licensed technologies. Dr. Zheng has published multiple high-impact studies on fibromodulin (FMOD)’s cellular mechanisms and scar-reduction biopotency. He was the first investigator to generate the FMOD-related peptide, SLI-F06, which enhances wound healing. He led the development of an SLI-F06 peptide and hyaluronic acid (HA) hydrogel drug/device combination product. He has been principal investigator (PI) for multiple NIH and SBIR grants, including two Fast-Track SBIRs, two CRP grants, and several PSF translational research awards. He holds certifications in Drug Development from Discovery to Commercialization, Pharmaceutical Development, and Principles of Clinical Pharmacology issued by the NIH Office of Clinical Research.
Vice President, Corporate Development — Elissa Chou, PhD
Dr. Chou brings over 12 years of experience in corporate development, business development, strategic planning, and program management across pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors. Her experience spans market research and competitive intelligence, opportunity screening, asset and technology evaluation, due diligence, financial modeling, and term sheet and agreement drafting and negotiation. Prior to Saint Therapeutics, Dr. Chou held roles spanning healthcare analytics and commercial strategy at Alere Health, translational program incubation and project management at SPARK Taiwan, corporate and business development at Allianz Pharmascience, and project scouting and evaluation in novel therapeutics for an angel fund. At Saint Therapeutics, her work focuses on fundraising, partnership development, and commercial strategy for the company's scar prevention and wound healing platforms. Dr. Chou holds a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Georgia Institute of Technology and degrees in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy from National Taiwan University.
Head of Internal Audit — Nathan Hsu
Mr. Hsu graduated from Fontbonne University in the United States, where he earned double master’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration. He also holds a Certified Internal Auditor. Mr. Hsu has over 15 years of experience in internal and external audit, internal control, regulatory compliance, risk management, and IPO-related practices. He has held positions at Deloitte, TaiDoc Technology, Asia Cement, UNIVA, and LINE Pay, spanning multinational corporations and publicly listed companies. Throughout his career, he has led the establishment and enhancement of internal control systems for Taiwanese and multinational companies, and has participated in IPO projects in Taiwan’s capital market, assisting companies in pre-listing internal control implementation, regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance planning. He currently serves as Head of Internal Audit at Saint Therapeutics, where he is primarily responsible for supporting the establishment of the company’s internal control system, strengthening regulatory compliance and risk management mechanisms, and advancing IPO-related preparation initiatives.
Board Chair — Leon Soo
Mr. Soo holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and previously served as a Strategy and Operations Consultant with Deloitte Consulting in the United States. He currently serves as a board director of Hotai Motor Co. (TAIEX #2207) and other leading corporations across Taiwan and China.With extensive experience in the governance and management of Taiwan's publicly listed companies, Mr. Soo brings deep expertise in corporate strategy, organizational leadership, and business operations. He will provide valuable management insight and play a pivotal role in the Company's strategic planning and long-term development initiatives.
Board Member — Audrey Tseng
Ms. Tseng is the Honorary Vice Chairperson of PwC Taiwan and a distinguished CPA with over four decades of experience in capital markets, corporate governance, and biotechnology industry development. She has advised numerous biotech and healthcare companies on financing, IPOs, and strategic growth, and currently serves on the boards and investment committees of several life sciences companies and venture capital funds. Her expertise provides valuable leadership in governance, capital strategy, and long-term value creation.
Strategic Advisor — Dr. Monica Bey
Dr. Bey is a seasoned biotechnology executive, ecosystem builder, and ICF-certified coach with more than 20 years of experience spanning clinical development, medical affairs, technology transfer, venture investment, business development, and startup incubation.She currently serves as Strategic Advisor to Saint Therapeutics , where she supports corporate strategy, business development, organizational alignment, fundraising preparation, and long-term IPO readiness initiatives.Prior to joining Saint Therapeutics, Dr. Bey served as Deputy CEO of the Innovation Incubation Center at BioHub Taiwan, Academia Sinica , where she played a key role in advancing Taiwan’s biomedical innovation ecosystem and fostering collaborations among academia, startups, investors, and industry leaders.Earlier in her career, she held leadership positions across biotechnology companies, innovation platforms, and clinical development organizations, with expertise in strategic partnerships, technology commercialization, clinical operations, regulatory strategy, and biotech investment evaluation.Dr. Bey received her Ph.D. in Genetics from National Yang-Ming University and earned an EMBA in Technology & Innovation Management from National Chengchi University. She is also an ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC), with a strong passion for leadership development, organizational communication, and team alignment.
